polarity therapy

Polarity therapy is a method of balancing the flow of energy through the body, developed by Randolph Stone in the 1940s and ‘50s by incorporating theories and techniques from traditional Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, and other energy-based healing techniques. Imbalances or blockages in the flow of this life energy through the body are believed to contribute to or cause a wide spectrum of conditions, from pain and disease to psychological problems including stress and depression.

These blockages can derive from a number of sources, including diet, trauma, environmental factors, and emotional disturbance.

The therapy typically consists of 60-90 minute sessions, during which the practitioner assesses potential problems with the patient’s energy field through conversation, observation and manipulation. The problems thus found are treated both by touch and by teaching the patient better awareness and control of his or her energy flow.
