jin shin do

Jin Shin Do is a form of acupressure, and works with similar principles and methods, most importantly the use of manual pressure on acupoints, locations along channels of energy flow through the body, to release tension in and improve the flow of energy.

It is different from acupressure in that it uses different motions of the hands, in particular a cradling of the region of the body in which the tension resides, while the acupoint is manipulated. The release thus achieved can help with a variety of problems, both physical and emotional, such as stress, pain, anger or anxiety.

Like acupressure, the method is safe, simple and requires no specialized equipment such as acupuncture needles, and so can quite easily be taught and self-administered. A course in Jin Shin Do therefore makes good economic as well as health sense.
