Holly, with a Bachelor
of Nursing and 17 years of clinical nursing experience in Calgary hospitals
recognized the need for accurate information after her husband was diagnosed
with cancer in 1989. Since that time Holly has been researching and personally
experiencing over 60 complementary and alternative therapies.
Holly integrates her personal experiences, with her knowledge of conventional
medicine and complementary and alternative medicine to present you with
the most dynamic, comprehensive and objective information in the field.

founder and director and manager of EnerChi Health.com, an online Internet
resource for quality information and resources on complementary &
alternative medicine so consumers and health care professionals alike
can make informed, educated decisions regarding complementary & alternative

Beyond
the Boundaries of Medicine: A Nurse's Perspective on Alternative Medicine
It is estimated that 50% of adult Canadians and as many as 90% of cancer
patients in some studies have tried some form of alternative medicine.
The complementary & alternative industry continues to grow, yet much
of the medical community knows very little about it.
This lecture provides
an overview of some of the most sought after complementary & alternative
therapies so healthcare professionals acquire the confidence and the knowledge
they need to converse comfortably on these topics with their patients.
With accurate information on CAM therapies, healthcare professionals can
confidently assist their patients in making educated decisions regarding
their health options ensuring the health and safety of their patients.
Participants will
- be able to differentiate between complementary & alternative therapies
- understand why people opt for complementary & alternative therapies
- have a basic understanding of the history, philosophy, strengths, limitations, clinical applications, potential adverse effects, current research, training requirements and reputable resources available for the most commonly used therapies

Speaker Fee:
1 hour: $350
2 hours: $600
All day: $2,000
- Accommodation, meals, airfare and car rental expenses are extra and will be covered in full by the client with submitted receipts. Note: The speaker will book all but the non-smoking room reservation which will be booked by the client.
- 50% of the fee is payable upon confirmation of the event, the balance will be paid upon completion. A 30-day cancellation notice is required for full refund of the deposit.
