Six Months To
Live |
It was a busy afternoon
on the GI Unit at the Peter Lougheed Hospital but I managed a short
conversation with one of my patients. I asked him how he was getting
home as he had had some sedation and was unable to drive home. He
told me that his buddy (72 years of age) was coming to get him. He
then went on to tell me that 3 years ago his buddy was diagnosed with
terminal cancer and given six months to live. This gentleman went
out and bought a lottery ticket that day and won $80,000.He sold his
house and most of his possessions and went on one big holiday. He
spent six months living a stress free fun filled life. Six months
later he returned for his check up and his cancer was gone. Three
years later he's broke but still alive! Spontaneous remissions baffle
scientists and remain a mystery to this day.
