history
The idea of putting
together an international resource for trustworthy information on complementary
& alternative medicine (CAM) was sparked in 1990 after Holly's desperate
search for reliable alternative health information for cancer. After having
to rely on friends and relatives with no medical backgrounds, sales people
at the health food stores and the Internet which presented conflicting
reports in many areas, the need for objective quality CAM information
was established and EnerChiHealth.com went online September 1, 2001. The
content written for EnerChiHealth.com is the result of over 14 years of
research and personal experience with highest regard for quality and credibility.
It is our intent to
bring what we believe to be the most credible CAM information, resources
and products together in one location to minimize the confusion that so
many people face when seeking information on complementary and alternative
medicine. EnerChiHealth.com strives to empower readers, knowing they have
more options for achieving and maintaining health.
EnerChiHealth.com
is meeting the growing demand by consumers for objective, reliable and
research based information on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM)
that is easy to navigate so they can make informed decisions on health.

Increase
awareness and understanding about the most commonly sought after CAM therapies
providing information on the basic concepts of the therapies, strengths
and limitations of each therapy, common clinical applications for each
therapy, potential adverse effects, current research available on each
therapy, training requirements as well as linking to quality internet
resources that are available for each therapy.
Educate
nurses and health care professionals on CAM to facilitate better communication
between patients and their health care providers. Nurses and health care
professionals who are better informed can be reliable resources for information
regarding CAM.
Encourage
the integration of complementary therapies such as relaxation exercises,
guided imagery, meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, massage, therapeutic
touch, music, humor, and other forms of energy healing with conventional
medicine by presenting research studies related to these practices as
they evolve.
Encourage
individuals to take an active role in their personal health by providing
appropriate strategies such as "how to search for a practitioner",
as well as providing the best data bases of CAM on the web, online journals,
research articles and latest news stories.
not
a replacement for conventional medicine
EnerChi
Health Inc. is not designed for the purpose of replacing conventional
medicine but rather to encourage the expansion of the boundaries within
which health issues are addressed. We
believe that both philosophies are significant in medicine and the emergence
of integrative medicine that combines these philosophies will provide
the best treatment options for achieving optimal wellness.
Note:
Although we truly believe in integrative medicine, EnerChiHealth.com will
only focus on complementary and alternative medicine information. We strongly
encourage you to search the many valuable conventional medical sites along
with enerchihealth.com to give you the best options possible in regaining
or maintaining your health. It is the combination of complementary and
alternative medicine with conventional medicine that will provide you
with the best possible outcomes.

The name EnerChi Health Inc.symbolizes the integration of two systems
of medicine.
Conventional medicine is based on the belief that all activities of the
body require energy and all needs of the body are met by consuming food
and converting it to energy.
Complementary and alternative medicine practices are based on the belief
that the human body consists of an energy system. It is believed that
this energy, or chi (pronounced chee) as it is referred to by the
Chinese, is the essence that circulates throughout our bodies and contributes
to our health and vitality.
And so EnerChi Health Inc. evolvedtwo different philosophies of
medicine, both with common goals of maintaining wellness, relieving suffering
and where possible, curing an illness or disability.
