What is Insomnia?

Sleep deprivation is epidemic in our society. Nearly all of us need more sleep than we get. It is estimated that 20 - 30% of all adults suffer regularly from sleep disorders with insomnia being the most common complaint. Canadians spend millions of dollars on sleeping pills. Insomnia is so common that it is almost considered a normal part of adult life. In one study, Thomas Roth, Ph.D. director of the Henry Ford Sleep Disorders Center in Detroit found that only 10 percent of his recruited subjects were optimally alert and 40 percent were living their daily lives in a state of significant sleepiness. Dr. Roth persuaded those who tested the most sleepiest to spend ten hours a night in bed for six consecutive nights. Tests afterward showed major improvements in alertness and intellectual performance. Getting enough sleep can save your life. With thousands of Canadians with sleep deprivation, life becomes greatly affected and health problems may be the price you pay. More Information on Sleep Disorders Click Here
