What is Alzheimer Disease?

Alzheimer disease is a debilitating disease that affects a person’s behavior, personality and memory.

Symptoms

Initial symptoms of Alzheimer disease are mild memory problems such as inability to keep track of time, and the ability to recognize familiar people, places and objects. These symptoms may be evident as they turn 50 years of age and continue to progress slowly. The short term memory is affected first, and as the disease progresses, one can become confused, disoriented, develop speech and coordination difficulties, personality changes, attacks of anger, mood swings, childish and inappropriate behavior and begin to wander. In most advanced cases of Alzheimer disease, dementia can lead to complete dysfunction of the brain where they are unable to follow conversation and lose the ability to speak.

Cause

The cause of Alzheimer disease is unknown. There is some debate whether toxic substances in our environments such as aluminum, mercury and silicon play a role but research have not identified this as the cause.

Think About It...

It is important to keep in mind that there is no cure for Alzheimer Disease but there are a number of resources that may help to delay or manage the symptoms more effectively.

The Best Combination

The best treatment for Alzheimer Disease has been combining the best of both conventional medicine and complementary medicine. We strongly recommend that you do not abandon conventional medicine in favor of an unproven complementary or alternative health practice.
