Prepare
for Surgery, Heal Faster
Peggy Huddleston
A companion to Peggy Huddleston's book Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster,
the audio, of the same title is a wonderfully therapeutic relaxation
and healing aide. The audio focuses on reaching a deep state of relaxation
which is practical for anyone to use and benefit from, not just those
preparing for surgery.

The most interesting
aspect of this audio is the placement of a heartbeat in the background
of the tape. Underlapping the sound of the heartbeat is the subtle
sound of something which resembles a faint helicopter. Throughout
the tape each of the sounds becomes progressively slower, bringing
you gradually into a deeper state of relaxation.
The heartbeat is comforting, tranquil, and felt very familiar. One
could compare it to being cradled in protective parental hands the
entire time.
The listener is also given the option of listening to side B of
the tape where the heartbeat has been removed for those who find
the background sounds more distracting than useful when trying to
relax.
While listening to Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster particular phrases
such as "deeper healthier level of mind" are continuously
repeated. Naturally you begin taking deep therapeutic breaths, relaxing
every part of the body, taking you to a very relaxed level where
healing occurs naturally, allowing the bodies innate healing system
to repair, strengthen and heal at several levels.
Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster shows you how positive emotions
and the human spirit combined with mainstream medicine help to speed
recovery from surgery. The audio is a pleasure to listen to. Huddleston's
voice is calming, peaceful, and soothing to the ear.
Using the mind-body techniques on the tape Huddleston says you'll
feel calmer before surgery, have less pain after surgery, recover
faster, and strengthen your immune system.
The Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster audio is a powerful tool in
aiding your body and mind to deeper levels of relaxation.
It is recommended that the audio be used several times a day before
and after surgery, as well as using it with the book.
